Snoozy is a final year coursework project completed as part of IDN3002 Design for Health. The project explores how design can address sleep disruption caused by late-night phone use.
Snoozy is a smart bedside alarm designed to help users disconnect from their phones at night and build healthier sleep habits. Combining physical and digital intervention, Snoozy features an integrated phone lock compartment that prevents late-night scrolling while still allowing essential notifications to pass through.
The device incorporates a sunrise light, ambient sounds, and gamified reinforcement to encourage consistent, undisturbed sleep. With a refined, minimal design and a focus on user-centred principles, Snoozy bridges technology and wellbeing to promote better rest and healthier routines.
Late-night phone use keeps our brains wired, delays sleep, and harms focus and wellbeing. Snoozy helps you break the cycle by creating a healthy boundary between you and your phone.
Snoozy replaces your phone's role at night with a minimalist touchscreen for time, alarms, and vital info. During the day, it transforms with widgets like weather and calendar.
Place your phone inside Snoozy's secure compartment before bed. Once locked, notifications are silenced, except from apps or contacts you've whitelisted.
Earn streaks for consistent, undisturbed nights. Skip the lock-in, you lose your streak and your phone won't charge overnight. Snoozy rewards discipline and better sleep.
Snoozy combines the comfort of a gentle wake-up light with the control of a phone lockbox, helping you disconnect, rest, and recharge without distractions.
